Honolulu firefighters returned to Punchbowl early Tuesday to extinguish a house fire for a second time.
The call came in just before 3:30 a.m. from Puowaina Drive.
Fire officials say a fire that destroyed a three-story, multi-family home late Saturday night rekindled in the early morning hours, once again triggering a second alarm.
Police closed Puowaina Drive between Hookui Street and Prospect Street while they investigated the scene.
All roads reopened just before 4 a.m.
Damage from the initial fire was estimated at $200,000 for the structure and $30,000 for its contents. Officials say there was no additional damage since the fire remaining confined to the previously burned area.
The exact cause remains under investigation.
