Road Work for the Week, Sept. 13-19

SCHEDULE OF LANE CLOSURES (Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.)

— H-1 FREEWAY —

EWA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Shoulder closure in the westbound direction between the Ewa Off-Ramp (Exit 5A) and the Kualakai Parkway Underpass for utility installations.

HONOLULU 
9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning: Lane closures in both directions between the Punahou Street Off-Ramp (Exit 23) and Ainakoa Avenue for striping installations.

PEARL CITY 
8 p.m.-5 a.m. Sunday: Lane closure of the westbound H-1 Freeway On-Ramp to the northbound H-2 Freeway for bridge repair work.

PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU
9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Two right lanes closed in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split for deck widening.

Now through 4 a.m. Monday: Right lane closure in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) for deck widening.

PEARL HARBOR
8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closure of the Arizona Memorial/Stadium Off-Ramp (Exit 15A) of the freeway to Kamehameha Highway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
6 p.m.-5 a.m. Tuesday through Friday morning: Partial closures of the Keehi Interchange ramps on the freeway in the eastbound direction for deck sealing.  All ramps will remain open.

Now through 12:01 a.m. Monday morning: Three left lanes closed in the westbound direction between the Keehi Interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp (Exit 15B) for deck sealing. All ramps will remain open.

WAIAWA INTERCHANGE
Monday through Friday morning for the rail project:

H-1/H-2 Freeways near Leeward Community College

  • Up to three eastbound lanes of the freeway approaching the H-1/H-2 merge (Waiawa Interchange) closed 8 p.m.-4 a.m..
  • Number of lanes closed each night may vary depending on location of work along freeway.

Farrington Highway to H-1 Freeway

  • Eastbound Waipahu on-ramp closed 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning.

Waipahu off-ramp

  • Westbound Waipahu off-ramp closed closed 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning.

Farrington Highway near Leeward Community College entrance

  • Westbound lanes of the highway near Waiawa Road will be crossed over to the eastbound side 8 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning. Also 8 p.m.-8 a.m. Sept. 18-19, and to 8 p.m.-10 a.m.

WAIPAHU
9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning: Closure of the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) from the freeway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

— H-3 FREEWAY —

KANEOHE
9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday through Tuesday: Right lane closure at the H-3 Tunnels from the Likelike Highway Underpass to 250 feet past the tunnel exit for routine tunnel maintenance.

  • Right lane closure in the Honolulu-bound direction on Monday.
  • Right lane closure in the Kaneohe-bound direction on Tuesday.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in both directions between the Mokapu Saddle Road Underpass and the Kamehameha Highway Off-Ramp (Exit 11) for median maintenance.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

EAST KAPOLEI/EWA
7:30 p.m.-5 a.m. weekdays: Closed between Kualakai Parkway (North-South Road) and Old Fort Weaver Road Loop for the rail project. Also to 5 a.m. Monday for overhead guideway work.

NANAKULI
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the eastbound direction between Hookele Street and Piliokahi Avenue for sign installations.
       
PEARL CITY 
8 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning: Two lanes closed in the westbound direction between Waiawa Road and the Kamehameha Highway Overpass for the rail project.

WAIANAE
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Thursday: Lane closure in the westbound direction between Ala Walua Street and Kaulawaha Road for utility replacements.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday: Right lane closed in the westbound direction between Manuulaula Street and Liopolo Street for tree trimming.

WAIPAHU 
9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning: Lane closure of the highway eastbound on-ramp to the H-1 Freeway for the rail project.

Monday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:
Old Fort Weaver Road to Leoku Street

  • Inside lanes of the highway closed 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Leoku Street to Leokane Street

  • Leoku Street intersection closed 7 p.m.-6 a.m. weeknights. Traffic detoured to Leokane Street, plus Saturday, as needed.
  • Left turn from the highway westbound at Leoku Street closed 24/7.
  • Inside lanes of the highway closed 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., plus Saturday as needed. Also closed 7 p.m.-6 a.m. weeknights.
  • Westbound lanes of the highway closed 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

Pupukahi Street to Pupupuhi Street

  • Left turn from highway westbound at Pupukahi Street closed 24/7 for approximately one week.
  • Left turn at highway eastbound at Pupukahi Street closed 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Left turn from highway eastbound at Pupupuhi Street closed 24/7 for approximately one week.

Aniani Street to Waipahu Depot Street

  • Inside lanes of the highway closed 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Waipahu Depot Road to Mokuola Street

  • Inside lanes of the highway closed 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Paiwa Street to Kahualii Street

  • Left turn from highway eastbound at Kahualii closed 24/7.
  • Inside lanes of the highway eastbound closed 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Kahualii Street to Kamehameha Highway

  • Outside lane of the highway eastbound closed 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Closed eastbound lanes at Kahualii will be crossed over to the westbound side of Farrington Highway between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY —

HAWAII KAI
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closed in the eastbound direction between West Hind Drive and Lunalilo Home Road for pavement striping installations and intersection work as part of the Kalanianaole Highway Resurfacing project.

Monday: Two lanes closed in the eastbound direction between East Hind Drive and East Halemaumau Street for lane marker installations as part of the Kalanianaole Highway Resurfacing project. Traffic will be contraflowed in a westbound lane. A special duty police officer will be available to assist traffic and pedestrians.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the eastbound direction between Kealahou Street and the Hawaii Kai Golf Course for utility installations.

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

AIEA/ALOHA STADIUM
Monday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

Lipoa Place to Pali Momi Street

  • One lane eastbound and one lane westbound closed 24/7 with left turn restrictions.
  • One eastbound lane closed 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.

Pali Momi Street to Honomanu Street

  • One westbound lane and one eastbound lane closed 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Two westbound lanes closed 8 p.m.-7 a.m.
  • Two eastbound lanes closed 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m. Various left turn pocket restrictions will be in place.
  • Intersection at Pali Momi Street closed after 10 p.m.

Near Aloha Stadium-Honomanu Street to Salt Lake Boulevard

  • Eastbound lanes will be crossed over to the westbound lanes between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • Up to three westbound lanes closed 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Various left turn restrictions in place.
  • One westbound lane closed 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Two eastbound lanes closed 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • Up to three westbound lanes of Salt Lake Blvd. will be closed 8 p.m.-7 a.m.

HAUULA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Alternating lane closures in both directions between Imua Place and Haleaha Road for utility repairs.

8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday: Lane closure in the southbound direction between Makao Road and Pokiwai Place for pole replacements.

KAAAWA
8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the northbound direction between Keo Place and Trout Farm Road for emergency shoreline improvements. Traffic will be contraflowed in the remaining open lane.

8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the southbound direction between Lihimauna Road and Kualoa Ranch for utility replacements.

KAHUKU
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday: Lane closure in the southbound direction between Puuluana Street and South Golf Course Road for pole replacements.

MILILANI 
8:30 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning: All lanes closed in both directions between Waipio Uka Street and Lanikuhana Avenue for road striping and drainage and guardrail work. General traffic will be re-routed to the H-2 freeway but local traffic access for Kipapa Gulch residents has been coordinated to be escorted through the project site as needed. Advisory message boards have been placed near Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikuhana Avenue with the work schedule.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closures in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Waihau Street for intersection traffic signal work and guardrail and pavement striping installations. One lane in both directions will be open for motorists at all times. Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and use alternate roadways such as Kuahelani Avenue, Meheula Parkway, Lanikuhana Avenue, Ka Uka Boulevard and the H-2 Freeway.

PEARL CITY TO AIEA 
Honolulu Rail Transit will be working on Kamehameha Highway this week at various locations.

  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Waiawa Road and Acacia Road.
  • Westbound lane near Acacia Road closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. with various left turn restrictions. Eastbound lane closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Acacia Road and Waimano Home Road.
  • 24/7 lane closures between Waimano Home Road and Puu Momi Street.
  • 24/7 lane closures between Puu Momi Street and Puu Poni Street.
  • 24/7 inside eastbound lane closure between Puu Poni Street and Kuleana Street. One westbound lane and one eastbound lane closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. with various left turn restictions. Left turn at Kuleana Road is closed (motorists will be detoured to Kaahumanu Street). One westbound lane closed 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • 24/7 inside lanes in both directions from Kuleana Road to Kaonohi Street with various left turn restrictions.

PEARL HARBOR/AIRPORT
Monday through Friday lane closures for the rail project.

Kamehameha Highway from Center Drive to Radford Drive

  • Two westbound lanes closed between 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • Left turn only lane into Makalapa Gate will be rerouted into the contraflow lane along the median between 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • Westbound bus stop relocated to the island at the Kamehameha Highway and Radford Drive intersection.

Kamehameha Highway from Radford Drive to Halawa Drive

  • Right turn only lane from Radford Drive onto the highway closed 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • All westbound lanes just beyond the Radford interseciton closed 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Westbound traffic contraflowed to the other side of the median until just past the construction zone.
  • Westbound bus stop at Kamehameha Highway and Radford Drive temporarily relocated to the island at the intersection between 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • Far right and far left lanes close to Halawa Drive intersection may be intermittently closed 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Kamehameha Highway from Arizona Memorial Place to Arizona Street

  • One eastbound lane of the highway closed intermittently 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Kamehameha Highway from Arizona Street to Makalapa Road/Gate

  • Up to two eastbound lanes of the highway closed 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Small section of left lane to be utilized as a contraflow lane between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Kamehameha Highway from Makalapa Road to Center Drive

  • One eastbound lane closed 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Eastbound bus stop at Kamehameha Highway and Makalapa Road temporarily relocated to mid-block between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Makai Frontage Road (off-ramp) from Kamehameha Highway/Plantation Drive to Valkenburgh Street

  • One eastbound lane of the highway off-ramp closed 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Aolele Street from Aolewa Place to Lagoon Drive

  • Lane closed between 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Partial lane closure westbound H-1 on-ramp between 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

WAIKANE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the southbound direction between Kualoa Regional Park and Johnson Road for utility repairs. A contraflow will be in effect.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the northbound direction between Waiahole Valley Road and Haupoa Street for guardrail replacements. A contraflow will be in effect.

WAIKANE TO HAUULA
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Roving lane closure in both direction between Waiahole Valley Road and Pokiwai Place for tree trimming.

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY —

HONOLULU 
8:30 p.m.-3:30 a.m. Monday through Friday morning: Alternating lane closure in both directions between Libby Street and River Street for sewage repairs.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closure in the eastbound direction between Awa Street and Smith Street for concrete pours.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closure in the eastbound direction between Alakawa Street and Pacific Street for sidewalk repairs.

PEARL HARBOR
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closure at the Arizona Memorial/Stadium Off-Ramp to Kamehameha Highway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY MAKAI FRONTAGE ROAD —

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in both directions between Queen Street and Atkinson Drive for concrete pumping and deliveries.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closed in the eastbound direction between Kahanamoku Street and Kalakaua Avenue for sewage maintenance.

— VINEYARD BOULEVARD —

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Roving single lane closures in both directions between Palama Street and the eastbound H-1 Freeway On-Ramp for road repairs and landscape maintenance.

— LILIHA STREET —

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the northbound direction between North King Street and Vineyard Boulevard for sidewalk reconstruction.

— MIDDLE STREET —

KALIHI 
7 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Saturday morning: Alternating lane closures in both directions between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway for the Middle Street Pavement Reconstruction project. There will also be a 24/7 southbound median lane closure and sidewalk closure on the west side of Middle Street. Signage will be posted instructing pedestrians to use the east sidewalk.

— KUNIA ROAD —

KUNIA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in both directions between Hauula Street and Plantation Road for storm drain cleaning.
