A new restaurant is buzzing in Kaimuki. Chef Lee Anne Wong has opened Hale Ohuna, which means “Secret Home” in Hawaiian.
The new venue is a bi-level restaurant with seating for about 30 downstairs and 30 upstairs. The modern Hawaiian noodle bar and sake/whiskey lounge is located at 3605 Waialae Avenue, in the space formerly occupied by Salt Kitchen and Tasting Bar.
“It’s such a beautiful, interesting space with the two floors and I wanted to create something that was really warm and inviting and I think just sort of my dedication, my love for Hawaii as my new home,” Wong said.
The menu features a range of noodle dishes that showcase local product and ingredients, as well as creative takes on traditional favorites.
