Siren testing on Oahu rescheduled for Monday

Outdoor warning siren tests originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 17, have been rescheduled for Monday, Sept. 21.

The tests were postponed due to Hawaii’s tsunami advisory after an 8.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Central Chile.

They will now take place between 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Ala Wai Golf Course, Honolulu
  • Ala Wai Regional Park, Honolulu
  • Wailupe Beach Park, Aina Haina

Residents may call HI-EMA at (808) 733-4300 if they have any questions or concerns regarding modernization of the Statewide Outdoor Siren Warning System. Contact the City and County of Honolulu Department of Emergency Management at (808) 723-8960 to report routine siren operational issues.
