The Honolulu Fire Dept. reports that a 30-foot motorboat took on water Monday morning at Ala Wai Boat Harbor.
The call came in about 10:30 a.m. The boat’s stern was already partially submerged when fire crews got to the harbor.
Multiple submersible water pumps were used to drain the vessel and bring it back up to the surface.
The Coast Guard and the Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response office was notified.
A private salvage company was dispatched to assist the vessel’s owner.
No injuries were reported.
An unknown amount of fuel was released into the harbor, but it wasn’t enough to be considered a major hazard.
