Brown Bags to Stardom Winner Releases First Album

Eden Kai is releasing his anticipated debut CD album, currently selling for digital downloads on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, etc. He’ll kick things off with a CD Release Party for his new album Touch the Sky (independently produced and published) on Sunday, October 4, from 5 p.m. – 8  p.m. at Fatboy’s on Ala Wai Golf Course in Honolulu.


At the CD party Kai, still a high schooler(!), will also premiere a short film he is stars in as the lead. He helped to write and direct this film, and shooting is wrapping up as of this writing.


Touch the Sky is a blend of alternative folk and instrumental pop music, and contains 14 original acoustic guitar instrumental songs flowing with fingerstyle-percussion-tapping-harmonics creating a band with just one acoustic guitar. He has developed his own unique playing style that has gained notice from many influential people in the music industry worldwide.


Brown Bags to Stardom TV show will be shooting video of the event which will air for two weeks on OC-16 TV. Brown Bags to Stardom finalists and other talents will be jamming with Kai as well.


2015 Brown Bags to Stardom Grand Champion Kai is a guitar virtuoso at 16,and the first ever instrumentalist to win this competition that launched the careers of Bruno Mars, Tia Carrere, Jake Shimabukuro, Glenn Medeiros and Yuna Ito. Originally from Japan, Kai started playing guitar at age 13, moved to Hawaii in 2013, and taught himself by watching YouTube videos.


Kai has composed over 100 acoustic guitar songs these past two years.


You can catch Kai’s next appearance as a featured performer at the Miss Hawaii Junior, High School, and Collegiate pageants in the Magic of Polynesia Showroom on Saturday October 3, from 12 – 1:30 p.m.
