The Interscholastic League of Honolulu board of directors have chosen Blane Gaison to be its new executive director.
Gaison is a Kamehameha alumni who holds a BA in Political Science/Pre-Law, with a minor in Secondary Education. He has over 26 years of athletic management experience.
He is currently the athletic director at Kamehameha Schools Maui, and prior to this position, Gaison spent over 20 years as an instrumental part of the Kamehameha Schools Kapalama athletic program. He started his work at that school as the head football coach, following his career as a professional football player for the NFL.
Gaison served as the ILH’s interim executive director following the death of Clay Benham in 2002.
He will start his new position with the ILH on January 4th, 2016. Georges Gilbert will continue as the interim executive director.
