The Honolulu Fire Department is urging caution after a family was rescued from Maunawili Trail in Windward Oahu.
Crews got the call at 2:54 p.m. Monday, after a mother and her baby were swept away by quickly rising waters.
They were part of a family of six visiting from California. The group included keiki ranging from one to eight years old.
Luckily they were rescued by other hikers, and everyone managed to make their way back down to the trail head.
According to Emergency Medical Services, the woman and her child were not hurt.
Fire officials urge the public to exercise extreme caution and refrain from hiking in the rain.
