At 9:25 a.m. Sunday, the Honolulu Fire Department responded to a two-alarm building fire at Kaewai Elementary School, located at 1929 Kamehameha IV Road.
Nine companies, staffed with 35 personnel, responded to this incident, with the first unit arriving on scene at 9:27 a.m.
HFD personnel located the fire which was confined to an outside area between the school’s office and the library. The fire involved storage located in a gated area.
The fire was brought under control at 9:31 a.m. and extinguished at 9:43 a.m. No injuries were reported.
Damage estimates are $10,000, which includes the storage items involved and some exterior portions of the building.
The cause of this fire has been determined as intentional and has been forwarded to the Honolulu Police Department for further investigating.
