Hawaiian Telcom crews are performing emergency repair work after an early morning crash brought down a utility pole and damaged five aerial cables.
The crash was reported just after 3 a.m. Friday on Farrington Highway in Maili.
Police initially shut down all lanes of the highway between St. Johns Road and Manuulaula Street.
All lanes have since reopened, although Hawaiian Telcom crews are partially blocking one town-bound lane to conduct repairs.
Work includes replacing the utility pole and repairing aerial cables that run across the highway. There will be brief temporary closures when crews start hanging the cables.
Traffic control and HPD are on scene to alert motorists and assist pedestrians.
The damage affected roughly 300 phone, 200 high-speed Internet and 100 TV customers. Other services, including wireless services, are also impacted.
