Honolulu police have arrested Lusi Tuimavave, who was wanted on two warrants for not following the terms of HOPE probation.

“On January 15, 2012, a male entered the Safeway store in Kaneohe and loaded the shopping cart with numerous bottles of alcohol and cases of beer,” said Crimestoppers Sgt. Kim Buffett. “He was followed out of the store and stopped when the cart failed to move any further due to the security lock. He grabbed the items from the cart and ran into a vehicle and fled.”

Police were able to track down Tuimavave through the vehicle’s license plate number and arrested him for theft.

He was also arrested in September of 2011 for criminal property damage.

“He has two prior convictions and is known to frequent the Windward area,” Buffett added.

Police say Tuimavave was arrested on Dec. 1, 2015, by the state Sheriffs Division.
