Lifeguards clear out Pokai Bay due to ‘aggressive’ shark

The Honolulu Emergency Services Dept. reports that a shark was sighted near Pokai Bay Tuesday morning.

At around 11 a.m., an approximate 6-foot shark was seen about 100 yards off of Pokai Bay near the army’s recreation center.

The shark was deemed aggressive because it was thrashing in the water.

Lifeguards have cleared the water, informed beach goers of the sighting and posted shark sighting signs.

They will reassess later in the afternoon.
