Get ready for holiday events on Hawaii Island

Coming up this Saturday we have our Downtown Hilo Christmas Light Parade starting at 5:30 pm.

Also something you may want to check out Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i hosts its annual Christmas concert, “Winter Celebration”, scheduled for next week Wednesday, December 2, to celebrate the season with song and dance, showcasing the hard work and talent of their performing arts students. The event will feature performances by the high school band, hula kahiko and ʻauana classes and the concert glee and chorus. This year’s concert will also feature a guest appearance by the Kamehameha Alumni Choir – Māmalahoe Chapter.

Proceeds from “Winter Celebration” will help to fund the Hō‘ike A Ha‘i performing arts department trip to Scotland to perform at the American High School Theatre Festival, part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, in August 2016. In addition to the performances, the event will have a silent auction of holiday gift items before the show, Wednesday, December 2 at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at Kamehameha Schools HI, William Charles Lunalilo Center. Tickets are $8.
