Firefighters are battling a brush fire burning about a half-mile mauka of Olowalu store on Maui.
It happened just after 4:30 p.m. Friday.
While it’s only scorched ten acres and is now 70 percent contained, crews are concerned about strong winds blowing towards homes about a quarter mile away.
Rough terrain is making it difficult for vehicles to get to the fire so crews have had to walk the fire line.
It’s unclear exactly what started the fire but crews did see a downed power line in the area.
