Millions of people across the country will hit the post office Monday in what’s considered to be the busiest mailing day of the year.
Here in Hawaii, we spotted dozens of people mailing packages and letters to loved ones. Many were happy to offer tips to speed up the process.
One suggestion to make the drop-off faster: use the self-help kiosks.
“This thing is a great invention. It’s one of my favorite things in the last five years that really makes my life easier,” said customer Nana Kawasaki-Jones. “This is so simple. No lines. You don’t have to go inside.”
“I usually buy early throughout the year for different people that I know when I see things that I know that they like, and then I also use online postage for shipping as well,” said customer Mary Phillips. “You can schedule a pickup. It is so seamless. It’s great.”
If you’re mailing anything to the mainland and want to get it there by Christmas, officials say it’s best to stick it in the mail by this Thursday.
