The Hawaii Tourism Authority Pro-Junior event will feature five Hawaii standouts, including Kaiser High School Sophomore Malia Nam.
Nam played last year and says “It was good to see the pros practicing how to play and what they do to get themselves ready for a great round.” One of the obstacles many golfers have to deal with is wind. Nam shows us how to hit a chip and run with a 9-iron.
She says “when you tend to use a lob wedge or Sand Wedge the ball tends to move in the wind direction of the wind so it’s smart to use a lower lofted club to get closer to the hole” You can checkout Nam during the Hawaii Tourism Authority Pro-Jr. Challenge (10th, 11th & 18th holes). It happens during Sony Open Tournament Week on Tuesday, January 13 at 2:45 p.m. Admission is FREE. For more information, log onto <http://www.sonyopeninhawaii.com/>.
