A high surf advisory remains in effect for the north and west facing shores until 6 a.m. Friday. Surf heights of up to ten to 15 feet are expected. Use caution if near the water.

The Honolulu City Council budget committee approved a five year tax extension, which would make people on Oahu pay the .5 percent GET surcharge until 2027. The full council is expected to vote on the extension by the end of the month.
