Honolulu fire rescue crews responded to a call Sunday afternoon of boaters in distress off Iroquois Point.

It was reported at 2:27 p.m. that a 25-foot sailboat went aground about 150 yards offshore.

Rescue watercraft were able to transport four adult males and a male child back to shore. No injuries were reported.

A Coast Guard helicopter was also on the scene.

The sailboat was trying to get to Naval Beach when the winds shifted and pushed the boat toward Iroquois Point and on to a shallow area.

The boat’s owner will work with the Coast Guard to salvage the boat.
