Virgin America launches Los Angeles-Hawaii flights with $169 flash sale

Virgin America announced Tuesday it will expand service to Hawaii with daily nonstop flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) and Kahului Airport (OGG) on Maui.

Flights to Honolulu begin May 5, while flights to Kahului begin June 14.

This new service adds to the airline’s recently launched daily service from San Francisco International Airport to Honolulu and Kahului.

To celebrate, Virgin America is offering a nationwide “Hot Ticket to Hawaii” fare sale through 7:59 p.m. HST (11:59 p.m. CT) Tuesday.

Sale fares start from $169 one-way (taxes and fees included, restrictions apply) and are available online or by phone at 1-877-FLY-VIRGIN. Click here for full terms and conditions.

On Wednesday, Elevate members can redeem reward flights to Hawaii, with no black-out dates, for as few as 8,278 points.

“Since we launched our Hawaii service last year, we’ve seen firsthand why it is one of the most popular leisure destinations among West Coast travelers,” said Virgin America president and CEO David Cush. “This new service from LAX not only brings this world class destination to our guests and Elevate members in the Los Angeles area, it opens up a number of roundtrip connecting flights to markets across the country.”
