Oahu restaurant’s pancakes considered some of the best in the country

Cinnamon's at the Ilikai

A Hawaii restaurant makes some of the best pancakes in America.

That’s according to a new list by Time Out, which gives high praise to Cinnamon’s Restaurant’s signature guava chiffon pancakes.

This breakfast-food specialist is home to the island’s most creative pancakes (think carrot cake and cinnamon-apple), but it’s the tropical rendition featuring a beloved local fruit that deserves a spot in the pantheon of best pancakes. Smothered in a duo of guava-infused sauces—one creamy, the other delightfully tart—the pile of ethereal buttermilk cakes will have you shouting “ono” at first bite.

Alexander Nam, general manager, Cinnamon’s at the Ilikai, wrote in response to the honor: “Cinnamon’s is proud to represent and showcase the common guava in all its tart, tangy, island-sweet glory!”

Cinnamon’s ranks #8 in the list’s top 15. The restaurant operates two locations on Oahu — Kailua and Waikiki.
