A new pizza shop is coming to East Oahu.
Pieology Pizzeria opens its first Hawaii location at Aina Haina Shopping Center on Feb. 28. It’s the first of 20 planned across the state.
The restaurant offers a build-your-own concept, so customers can create artisan-style pies with a variety of toppings, including fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Pieology Aina Haina will also serve beer and wine.
The public was invited to attend a traditional Hawaiian blessing on opening day at 10:45 a.m., before the restaurant opens its doors to the public at 11 a.m.
Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell also made a special appearance at the event.
“We are really excited about introducing the Pieology concept to Hawaii,” said Cotti Foods’ president and CEO, Peter Capriotti II, who is a part-time Hawaii resident. “Part of the Pieology mission is also to support our communities, and we will be launching programs to work with local organizations and schools throughout the year. One of our first fun events will be providing free pizzas for the entire Kalani High School senior class.”
The restaurant is now hiring for all positions.
“We hired about 35 employees, and within the past several days we got another 15 more applicants that we’re viewing right now and looking over,” said district and general manager Luther Pascua-Mateo.
Interested parties must be at least 18 years old, and may email their resumes to email@example.com, or fill out the online application at pieology.com.
Walk-in applicants will also been seen Monday through Friday, Feb. 8-12, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Training will take place Feb. 22-26.
The restaurant offers dine-in seating for up to 52 guests and will be open Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
