Missing Laumaka furlough program inmate returns to OCCC

Work furlough program inmate Albert Kalakau returned on his own to OCCC Saturday. He voluntarily walked in to the facility at 10 a.m.

Kalakau failed to return from a furlough pass to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center on Monday, Feb. 29.

Kalakau was serving time for Attempted Theft 2 and Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle. Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges. His next parole hearing is scheduled sometime in March.

51-year old Kalakau is classified as community custody which is the lowest custody level.
