Maui police investigate Wailuku parking lot fight

Maui police are investigating a fight that broke out involving over 20 people in Wailuku.

At about 2:02 a.m. Sunday, March 13, police were assigned to the parking lot fronting Ray’s Bar in Wailuku regarding a disorderly conduct. Reports of over 20 individuals were involved in the physical altercation. There was also a report of a gun being fired at the scene.

Police arrived at the scene and discovered a man laying on the ground with injuries and five bystanders near the area. Officers did not observe any fighting upon their arrival. The victim was transported to the Maui Medical Center in stable condition.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a male individual had a gun and fired it in an unknown direction. Individuals subdued the gunman, but police could not find the weapon at the scene. No injuries reported as a result of the gun being fired.

Police obtained information that the man, initially taken to the hospital, was the alleged gunman.

No arrests have been made.
