The Street Food Stadium make its debut in the Kaheka area of Kalakaua Avenue Saturday. The new venture is next door to the Home Bar & Grill, mauka of Kapiolani Blvd.
Ten food trucks will be part of the grand opening that will be offering a variety of local and international cuisine like takoyaki, poke and acai bowls, kalbi udon, garlic shrimp ramen, gyoza, Moroccan fare and more.
It will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
Street Food Stadium utilizes an incubator concept of the test kitchen, benefiting aspiring entrepreneurs and chefs wanting to break into the food truck industry.
Short term leases will allow for new food trucks to be introduced on a consistent basis.
“We want to offer small businesses and aspiring chefs an affordable platform to experiment with new ideas without the large initial investment a mortar location requires,” said Jonathan Imai, Director of Communication and Development at HL Honolulu LLC.
