After 15 seasons of American Idol, we’re now down to the final three episodes.
This week will determine who will be the final American Idol while also catching up with former judges and contestants, including Hawaii’s own Jasmine Trias.
Many of us remember when Trias finished third in the show’s third season. It seemed like all of Hawaii tuned in to root and vote for her.
Trias was a senior at Maryknoll School who went on to perform around the world. Today, Trias lives and performs in Las Vegas.
Living808 caught up with her a few months back, when she said: “I feel sad that it’s going away, because it gave so many people the opportunity like myself to really go after their dreams.”
Over the years, more than a million people stood in line to audition for the show, which gave unknown talent their chance at stardom.
Seven Idol contestants have scored number-one albums, six have won a total of 13 Grammys, and one, Jennifer Hudson, won an Academy Award.
Season four winner Carrie Underwood is the top-selling Idol, having sold more than 35 million albums.
The final episodes air Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7 p.m. on KHON2.
