The final University of Hawai’i men’s basketball undeclared junior announced his intentions Saturday, as reserve forward Stefan Jovanovic will leave the program and transfer to Loyola Marymount.
As first reported by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Brian McInnis, Jovanovic joins Stefan Jankovic (professional) and Aaron Valdes (professional) in leaving the program, but he becomes the first of the four juniors to seek a transfer.
Friday, starting forward Mike Thomas declared that he will remain in Manoa for his senior season.
The 6’11” Jovanovic appeared in all 34 games for Hawai’i, averaging 4.9 points and 4 rebounds in just over 15 minutes of action per game.
Sophomore guard Niko Filipovich also declared Saturday that he will return to his home of Los Angeles and retire from basketball.
Filipovich averaged 5.2 minutes-per-game, and appeared in 22 contests in 2015-2016. He intends to pursue his bachelor’s degree in business management.
