Honolulu police and CrimeStoppers have arrested a man with nearly 50 prior convictions.
Joseph Yamaguchi, also known as Vanroy Delima, was arrested in 2013 for unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
“On March 23, 2013, at 4:30 a.m., the complainant heard his truck starting, looked out the window, and observed it fleeing down the street,” said CrimeStoppers Sgt. Kim Buffett.
“He initiated a police report. And at 4:50 p.m. that same day, an officer was sent to a suspicious circumstances case on Waianae Valley Road, and observed a male sleeping in a truck that was running. He checked the VIN number and found that was the truck that was stolen,” she added.
He was wanted on a $25,000 warrant for not showing up for his probation revocation and re-sentencing hearing.
“He has 47 prior convictions and is known to frequent the Waianae area,” Buffet said.
Yamaguchi was arrested again on July 17, 2016, at approximately 12:28 p.m., at Pelenaki Street and Farrington Highway for his contempt warrant totaling $26,600, and drug offenses.
