A pedestrian killed after being hit by a car as she crossed Sheridan Street Friday morning has been identified.
The accident happened at 10:10 a.m. May 20 at the intersection with Rycroft Street.
The Honolulu medical examiner has identified her as Exian Lin, 52. An autopsy revealed she died of blunt impact to the head.
According to police, a 2012 Hyundai sedan was traveling east on Rycroft and turned left onto Sheridan, hitting Lin as she crossed Sheridan in a marked crosswalk.
She was hospitalized in critical condition with head and internal injuries and died the following day.
The 27-year-old male driver was not injured.
Police shut down a portion of the road as emergency crews treated the woman and officers investigated the scene. The road was reopened at 12:37 p.m.
Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, police said. An investigation into the accident continues.
This is the 17th traffic fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 19 the same time last year.
