After days of searching, Honolulu police have recovered a key piece of evidence in an attempted murder investigation.
The vehicle believed to be involved in an Ewa Beach hit-and-run early Tuesday morning was found sometime after 8 p.m. Friday in Whitmore Village.
Witnesses said the silver Hyundai sedan intentionally drove into a group of people on Fort Weaver Road, going back and forth several times, at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17.
An 18-year-old woman was critically injured, and a 17-year-old male was hospitalized in stable condition.
The suspected driver, Malik Morton, 20, turned himself in Thursday afternoon, but police were still searching for the car.
The vehicle found Friday night had the matching Hawaii license plate SPR 609, and its windshield was smashed.
Morton was booked on two counts of attempted murder, but has not been charged.
