The driver in a deadly crash in Waianae that killed a teenager has been sentenced to one year in jail and five years probation.
The ruling came despite a request from prosecutors for the maximum 10-year prison sentence.
Kamealohanakekaiaulu Wilbur-Delima pleaded guilty to negligent homicide last November.
In 2013, Wilbur-Delima was driving a truck with 15 other people when he lost control near Makua Cave.
The vehicle hit some rocks and burst into flames, killing 16-year-old Zain Lalawai.
He was originally scheduled to be sentenced in March, but never showed up.
