The Honolulu Fire Department will hold a memorial service for Firefighter III Clifford Rigsbee.
It will take place Saturday, June 25, at the Charles H. Thurston Fire Training Center at 890 Valkenburgh Street.
Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., and an HFD pass in review will begin at 1 p.m.
The memorial service is open to the public. A private scattering of the ashes will follow.
Parking for the memorial service will be available in the vicinity of the training center, and uniformed staff will be present to direct attendees.
Rigsbee died from injuries sustained during rescue watercraft training off Diamond Head on June 14. He was rescued and brought to shore by fellow firefighters.
The 63-year-old was appointed to the HFD on July 3, 1995, and served 21 years, 11 months. He was assigned to the Waikiki Fire Station’s 2nd Platoon.
The family of the late FF Rigsbee asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the fund created in his memory.
