OCCC furlough inmate Moses Kawaa captured, arrested

An Oahu Community Correctional Center work furlough program inmate who went missing the morning of June 21 has been captured and arrested.

Moses Kawaa, 33, was placed under arrest early Thursday morning, June 30.

Kawaa failed to return after work to Module 20. The 33-year-old left the morning of June 21 and was scheduled to return at 7 p.m.

He is classified as community custody which is the lowest custody level.

Kawaa was serving time for Robbery 1. Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges.

His next parole hearing is scheduled for September.
