Some Foster Village residents were surprised by a fountain of water cascading near their homes Friday night.
The deluge was triggered by a broken water main on Haloa Drive at around 9 p.m.
While the effect was certainly dramatic, the Board of Water Supply says the actual impact was relatively minor.
The 8-inch main break cut water service to two homes. It was repaired and service restored by 7 a.m. Saturday.
Road repaving is expected to wrap up by noon.
