Biden to meet with foreign dignitaries, observe RIMPAC in Honolulu

Vice President Joe Biden is stopping for a quick visit in Honolulu this week.

On Thursday, he is scheduled to meet with Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Shinsuke Sugiyama and Republic of Korea First Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-nam.

The trilateral meeting, hosted by Deputy Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, is meant to deepen relations among the three countries.

Biden will then visit USS John C. Stennis to observe the multinational, ongoing Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise and meet with U.S. and international troops.

He departs Friday for Melbourne, Australia.
