Portuguese man o’ war influx reported along Oahu’s east shore

Beachgoers along Oahu’s east-facing shore, be on the lookout for Portuguese man o’ war.

Ocean safety officials report an influx of the stinging creatures along parts of coastline, especially at Waimanalo Beach Park.

Lifeguards there have already reported a high number of stings, and warning signs are posted in the affected areas.

The beaches remain open. Use caution when going into the water.
