A portion of Likelike Highway in Kaneohe was closed for hours Wednesday as police investigated an attempted murder scene.
The Kaneohe-bound lanes of the highway were closed between Kahekili Highway and Anoi Road.
An alert was issued just after 12:30 p.m. and the road was reopened by 5 p.m.
At around 11 a.m., police received a report of a hazardous SUV being driven by a 17-year-old girl near Kualoa Regional Park, but officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
A half-hour later, the same SUV was involved in two crashes near the intersection of Likelike and Kahekili highways.
Police say a man got out of one of the damaged vehicles and was threatened by the female driver to get into the SUV. He got into the SUV and was later located at Castle Medical Center, where he was seeking treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
The SUV was recovered in Waianae Thursday afternoon. Police are still looking for the female driver.
She also faces possible charges for kidnapping and car theft.
