Walk Wise & McDonald’s of Hawaii team up for Pedestrian Safety Month

Walk Wise Hawaii, the Hawaii Department of Transportation’s (HDOT) pedestrian safety campaign, is partnering once again with McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii to educate the public on good pedestrian habits. Over the past six months, representatives of the Walk Wise Hawaii program and McDonald’s Hawaii owner/operators have several efforts in place including its Kupuna Pledge Card program and pedestrian safety poster contest.

As part of Pedestrian Safety Month, McDonald’s Hawaii is hosting seven “Be Seen at Night” events at different restaurants across the state. Customers will learn safety tips during a pedestrian safety presentation. They will also be passing out special McDonaldʻs of Hawaii blinky safety lights to enhance pedestriansʻ chances of being seen at night.
