A local non-profit organization needs your help after hundreds of items meant to bring comfort to victims of child abuse were stolen.
Aileen Deese of Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii said that over the holiday weekend, someone stolen hundreds of stuffed animals that a volunteer had been collecting for some time.
The items were going to be donated to this weekend’s “Teddy Bear Round Up” at Windward Mall and then given to local abused children.
“The volunteer who was collecting it over a long period of time came on Tuesday after Labor Day and found five big grey bins were stolen out of their office,” Deese said.
The non-profit is asking for extra donations to make up for the stolen stuffed animals.
The “Teddy Bear Round Up” at Windward Mall will be this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
