Six brown water advisories have been issued by the state Dept. of Health for Oahu and Maui.

One advisory is for the entire island of Oahu.

While another has been issued for all of Maui, there are particular advisories for Hanakao’o, Honokahua Bay, Honolua Bay and Baldwin Park.

The public is advised to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris.

Not all coastal areas may be impacted by runoff, but if the water is brown, stay out, and continue to practice good personal hygiene and follow up with your primary care physician if you have any health concerns.
