Medical examiner identifies Honolulu man killed in East Oahu waters

A man who died in waters off East Oahu Wednesday has been identified.

The Honolulu medical examiner identified him as Zachary Felipe, 30.

Rescuers were notified at around 1:44 p.m. by a woman who was with Felipe in an area known as China Walls. She said she lost sight of him when he jumped into the water.

Divers with the Honolulu Fire Department found Felipe’s body at 2:29 p.m. and brought him to shore, where he was pronounced dead.
