STARS HOLLOW, CONN. (MEDIA GENERAL) — Any avid “Gilmore Girls” fan will agree–there’s nothing quite like a good cup of coffee—with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and as Lorelei Gilmore would say, “with [her] oxygen.”
In honor of the 16th anniversary of the series premiere, Netflix is taking over coffee shops and restaurants around the nation and converting them into real-life Luke’s Diners so fans can literally live like a Gilmore girl.
For one day only, Oct. 5, beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at noon, fans can finally taste the sweet elixir that is coffee from Luke’s Diner at their own local watering hole.
Over 200 businesses across the country are slated to participate, including at least one in each state.
In Hawaii, Island Brew Coffeehouse will be pouring out free cups of Luke’s coffee at its two locations: 377 Keahole St. in Hawaii Kai and 1137 11th Ave. in Kaimuki.
According to Variety, the first 200 customers at each location will receive free 12-oz. cup of coffee.
Official merchandise will be available for purchase, as well as other prizes and surprises.
