“There’s so much parity in the Big West that every game is a good game, and I’m looking forward to two more good games this weekend,” Hawai’i head coach Michele Nagamine said. “Making sure that our trainings are done with that game-intensity and match-speed in mind, that’s really important to us this week. I’m looking forward to it. We’re going to have two really good games this weekend and it should be very exciting.”
The Highlanders enter Thursday’s contest with a 3-7-3 overall record and 0-2 mark in the Big West. UC Riverside has lost five consecutive games, with four of those defeats coming by a one-goal margin. The Highlanders lost 2-1 at Cal State Fullerton and 2-0 to UC Irvine in their first two Big West contests of the season.
UC Davis is 4-5-3 entering the week and will face Cal State Fullerton on Thursday before making the trip to Hawai’i. The Aggies played CSUN to a scoreless tie in their only Big West match of the season.
