The city is asking for public assistance to clean up Ala Moana Regional Park.
Volunteers are needed to help take rocks along the shoreline and move them to designated pits.
The cleanup will take place this Saturday, Oct. 8, 7-11 a.m. between McCoy Pavilion and High Point Stairs (meet at Lifeguard Stand 1C).
“This is a labor of love,” said Jeanne Ishikawa, deputy director of the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation. “We think this is a great event on Saturday morning for a couple hours. Ala Moana Beach Park is the people’s park and we think they will respond. It’s just a beautiful way to start a Saturday morning.”
Volunteers are asked to wear beach attire and water shoes, and bring their own hand tools, buckets, and reusable water bottles.
The city says water and snacks will be provided.
