The diver who was pronounced dead at the scene after being pulled unresponsive from waters off Kualoa Regional Park Saturday night has been identified.

He was Eldean Kukahiko, 63, of Kaneohe.

Honolulu fire crews conducted search by land and air following a call for Kukahiko who was reported missing around 7:18 p.m.

Two engine companies, a helicopter, a water rescue crew and a battalion chief were involved in the search efforts.

Kukahiko was eventually found by a private-party watercraft and met with fire crews who then conducted CPR in attempts to revive him.
