Police search for tattooed suspect in University area shooting

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s help in finding a male who is wanted for Attempted Murder in the First Degree.

On Tuesday, September 20, at approximately 12:20 a.m., the complainant and a friend drove to Metcalf Street in an attempt to locate his stolen Nissan.

They observed a Nissan parked on Metcalf that resembled his vehicle and stopped to ask the males about the vehicle. One of the males approached, lifted his shirt, and exposed a tattoo across his stomach.

The complainant and his friend left the area and observed the Nissan drive off. They attempted to follow the vehicle when the male with the tattoo stepped out into the roadway, pointed a handgun at them, and fired several shots.

The suspect is in his 20s, between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-7, 130 to 140 lbs., and was wearing a gray hoodie, light colored shorts and shoes. The tattoo across his stomach is of an unknown design.
