Kauai county officials announced Friday morning that major improvements to the Hanapepe Stadium were completed last week.
“We are pleased that our families will be able to enjoy the KIF football games and other events at the newly refurbished Hanapepe Stadium,” said Mayor Bernard Carvalho, Jr. “Mahalo to everyone involved in this project. Their efforts helped to ensure that it was finished in time for this weekend’s games.”
The refurbishment included demolition and removal of the wooden bleachers and installation of new aluminum bleachers, concrete walkways, a new announcer’s booth, and new football and baseball scoreboards.
The general contractor for the $1.87 million project was Cushnie Construction.
