A retired Honolulu police officer involved in an accidental shooting at a bar last year was sentenced Wednesday.
In August, Anson Kimura pleaded guilty to second-degree assault for an incident that occurred April 2015 on King Street.
He was off-duty at the time.
The bullet hit a 40-year-old woman in the abdomen, and she was hospitalized in critical condition.
The Honolulu Police Department called it an accidental discharge.
Kimura retired from the department the following month, in May 2015, with 25 years of service.
He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, four years of probation, and 200 hours of community service. He is expected to turn himself in next week.
Kimura was also ordered to stay away from both the victim and the bar.
