In the Kitchen: Easy ramen stir-fry

In “Sam Choy’s in the Kitchen,” Chef Sam Choy shows local families how to turn their leftovers into new, exciting, and delicious dishes.

Today, he and co-host John Veneri show Taizo how to serve up a local favorite: ramen!

Start by cooking up plain ramen (make sure to save your flavor packet).

In a skillet, fry up some chopped vegetables and garlic. You can use whatever you have on hand, like onion, peppers, and zucchini.

Add the cooked noodles and a splash of shoyu. Top with shredded, cooked chicken, sprinkle on some seasoning from your soup packet, and toss to combine.

“That’s the thing about what we’ve done on the show. We taught people not to really overcook their leftovers, but bring it back up to safety temperature, and serve it,” Chef Sam advised.

Turn off the heat, finish with chopped cilantro, and serve.
