The city has finished repairs after yet another act of vandalism in an Oahu park.
On Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, workers observed that the bathroom facility in the comfort station at Whitmore Neighborhood Park had been severely damaged.
Someone had smashed the toilet and burned toilet paper in the dispenser on the men’s side of the comfort station.
Following the filing of a police report, park workers repaired and reopened the stall in under a week.
Vandalism to public facilities costs taxpayer money, and officials say the community suffers when these facilities are not functioning.
Criminal property damage at any level is punishable by jail time and fines.
