*Editor’s note: Adam Lai was arrested on February 15, 2017, at approximately 9:35 a.m. at Ahaolelo Road and Kahekili Hwy., for his two Probation Revocation warrants totaling $40,000.
Honolulu police and CrimeStoppers were looking for Lai who was previously arrested for habitual DUI and has more than a dozen prior convictions.
“On April 9, 2004, the complainant was driving home around 12:45 a.m. on Oaniani Street when he observed a male sitting in his son’s parked Honda. He thought it was his son but upon closer inspection found it was two unknown males,” said CrimeStoppers Sgt. Kim Buffett.
“He called the police and the two males were located nearby. One of them was identified as Lai and was arrested for attempted unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle,” Buffett added.
He was also arrested in October 2014 for habitual DUI, since he’d been arrested for drunk driving three times before.
